As I've stated beofre, you _really_ need to provide them with DETAILS!
People aren't mind readers and you have to go the distance to help
them help you.

Plus, people have already responded to your query stating that there
are still unresolved issues with the latest and greatest PowerBook G4
optical drives (brand new hardware often poses a challenge for
Linux... Linux works best on older, boring, tried-test-and-true
hardware). And, if you do want to try it with your particular optical
drive, that there is a Gentoo build that apparently has an
experimental driver that works!
