I've amended /etc/aliases as per the standard instructions (tho
supposedly that shouldn't be necessary using some of the modifications
to exim4/postfix proposed in the docs)
the mailman log shows no errors; shows subsrciptions; no record of
incoming posts; qrunner is mostly unremarkable, though it shows a few
messages like these shortly before shutdown:
Nov 11 15:21:29 2005 (26581) Master qrunner detected subprocess exit
(pid: 26582, sig: None, sts: 15, class: ArchRunner, slice: 1/1)
Nov 11 15:21:29 2005 (26581) Master qrunner detected subprocess exit
(pid: 26583, sig: None, sts: 15, class: BounceRunner, slice: 1/1)
Nov 11 15:21:29 2005 (26581) Master qrunner detected subprocess exit
(pid: 26584, sig: None, sts: 15, class: CommandRunner, slice: 1/1)
Nov 11 15:21:29 2005 (26581) Master qrunner detected subprocess exit

Nov 11 15:21:29 2005 (26581) Master qrunner detected subprocess exit
(pid: 26588, sig: None, sts: 15, class: VirginRunner, slice: 1/1)
Nov 11 15:21:29 2005 (26587) OutgoingRunner qrunner caught SIGTERM.
Stopping.

not sure, but those don'treally look like errors to me.
Am just starting to get some interesting messages in /var/log/exim4,
see my next post below.
