seeing asp files in firefox

Hi all,

How can one set firefox to view asp files?

I searched on the net and at mozilla.org but could not find any help on 
this topic. Tried adding asp as text/html in  /etc/mime.types as follows
text/html                    html htm shtml asp

but that did not help too. Same is the case with making changes to 
~/.mime.types as follows
type=text/html desc=Active server pages" exts="asp"
