Hooray! Mandeep you are brilliant... I was told by many people that I
would not be able to recover from this. Your advice proved everyone
wrong. It took a while however...
I installed a live cd knoppix then I ran e2fsck and 7% of /dev/hda9 was
deemed unusable but I can live with that! I may bring the box back to
IBM later but now there is no rush, thanks!
