[OT] Hardware Decision

I'm planning to buy some sort of entry level server for a small company
with currently 10 simultanous users. This machine will act as a
database/web/fileserver. Of course it'll run ubuntu ;-)
Does it makes sense to buy a xeon machine ?
Are there any known problems with ubuntu ?
It's a dump question but what's the advantage of a xeon against a P4?
