Update Manager "signatures were invalid"

Hallo Max & Duncan



I'm new to both Linux and Ubuntu, this is my very first posting in the
forums! That's probably enough to warn you that the following may not
be worth much... 



I had the same problem with the update manager. What worked for me (at
the time of posting this...) was to open the update manager >
preferences > authentication > restore default keys. 



I'm not aware of having changed or added any keys before doing this,
but it did work for me. Either it fixed something (I think the key
looks different - the name "string") or the relevant server was simply
back on line when I retried... I did at some point choose to "localise"
somewhere in some application, that may be where the za (for me), de,
se, us, etc. jumps out from - perhaps somehow linked to this problem?



Anyway, that's way too much writing for my first posting.
