The Firefox and Thunderbird icons are both available for download from
gnome-look.org. After downloading them, copy them, open Nautilus as
root, and past them into the icons directory (which I think is
/usr/share/pixmaps). Then right-click on the current icon, open
Properties, click on the icon at the bottom and that opens the icon
directory, where you pasted the new icon. Just select the new one and
you're done.
