I thought of donating (assuming I had any money to give ie.. :-/ ) to
Ubuntu. But, considering the massive amount of money that a core
developer costs, I guess that no matter how many Ubuntu lovers gave
money, we would still be a long way from having enough money to employ
say a second Colin Watson or Matt Zimmerman... :-/
That said, maybe the little money could be employed for "Bounties", to
get small sub-projects done, that would normally not be worked on by the
core team, because of work "prioritization" (if that's a word, not
sure... ;-)
Woud be nice to have a page on the Ubuntu website, that show how much
donatiosn add up to, how many people donated, and what bounties/work
this allowed to be carried out, with a link to the details of each
bounty. That would show people that donations do make a difference an do
help to make Ubuntu a little better a little faster. That might
encourage people to donate.
