I've got a Toshiba 430CDT with the same specs which I'm trying to get
to work and I cannot get this to work for the life of me!!! It's really
p!$$!ng me off!
I'm trying the instructions in the link you recommended above and I
can't really even get past the first step. My Ubuntu does work with the
command "custom", so I assumed you needed to run it with "server" for
installation and then proceed from there. I cannot even get this mode
to install properly without crashing.
Just after it starts loading install files that say something about
"nic" drivers (for ethernet cards I assume), it hangs up for a bit and
then says "Cannot allocate memory", which is followed by "Segmentation
Fault" about 5-6 times, then some sort of "Out of memory - Killed
Process 2326" (which only comes up part of the time) and then it
reboots the whole machine.
I really want to get this installed on this particular computer as you
have. Can you assist?
