???
When I try to boot to the hard disk I see:

 Unrecognized mount option
 "errrors=remount-ro" or missing value
mount: You must specify file type

An obvious typing error on my part.

When I attempt editing /etc/fstab per your instructions using the Live
 CD I see:
 # UNCONFIGURED FSTAB FOR BASE SYSTEM
 # Added by Morphix
 /dev/cloop0 /mnt/cloop0 auto noauto,users,exec 0 0
 # Added by Morphix
 /dev/sda2 /mnt/sda2 ext3 noauto,users,exec 0 0
 # Added by Morphix
 /dev/sda3 /mnt/sda3 auto noauto,users,exec 0 0
 # Added by Morphix
 /dev/sda4 /mnt/sda4 vfat noauto,users,exec,umask=000,uid=warty 0 0
 # Added by Morphix
 /dev/sda5 /mnt/sda5 ext3 noauto,users,exec 0 0
 # Added by Morphix
 /dev/sdb /mnt/sdb auto noauto,users,exec 0 0
 /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1 auto noauto,users,exec,umask=000,uid=warty 0 0
 /cdrom1 /cdrom1 supermount auto,user,fs=auto,dev=/dev/cdrom1

I don't see the error I see when booting the HD so this isn't the fstab
on the hard disk.... right?
