Following up on my request for help because the network in Hoary didn't work.... Found the answer in one of the messages on the Ubuntu forum: Simply add acpi=noirq to the kernel boot line. Problem solved. Network is up...matter of fact this is written on my new Hoary. Seems DHCP is slightly broken in Hoary, but it doesn't affect everyone. Cheers
