5.04 and external screen on i915 based notebook

I have now installed xserver-xorg=6.8.2-15 from Breezy, and the problem 
of always going to 640 x 480 is gone. Many thanks!

However, now I've (still?) got the problem that all modes are displayed 
at 75 Hz, regardless of my 60 Hz and 56 Hz Modelines I supplied.

Can this be a problem of the i810 driver always getting its display 
settings from the VESA BIOS? If yes, how am I supposed to override the 
refresh rate? I definately need 60 Hz, because I finally want to use my 
Dell 2405 which will only accept 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.
