AFAIK you can create execution environments with different view on the
world. Since everything in Plan 9 is a file this means each application
gets a different view on the file system. I bet there is access control
as well though...

There is a similar thing available for Linux, per-process namespaces was
added durig 2.5 development (and backported to 2.4 I think).
