Probably because you get ubuntu's auto update icon in your desktop
panel's system tray. Also, since it's installed machine-wide, a normal
user can't upgrade the installation (without firefox knowing about
sudo).
What's the problem with telling firefox to tell mozilla.org that it's a
secure version (which is true)?
