Ubuntu Book by O'Reilly?

Whether the book will be outdated in no time or not is a question of
what it covers. Basic concepts such as installing software and getting
hardware to work (installing printers, etc.) wont change drastically
over time. I think a trade-off between short lasting details and
long-term concpets can be found.

For updates on the book's content I would not publish update-booklets,
but provide a website. I wouldn't buy a book, if I would knew that I
have to buy updates to it every six month..

I think the book should be aimed at newbs. But some "advanced" stuff
such as installing multimedia support should also be described. Some
basic concepts of Linux should also be explained, like the use of sudo
and why one has to type in his password always..

Concerning advanced users, I think they can cope easily without a book,
at least for the time being, as there are heaps of howtos around in the
internet..
