I just upgraded Warty to HOary via apt, and now I am progressively, over
the days, discovering things here and there that don't work.
Today's problem is with X-Plane.....
It was working perfectly in Warty, but in Hoary it won't play any
sound :-/ The error it show in the terminal is :
"open /dev/[sound/]dsp: Device or resource busy"
I don't understand this, because I don't have any other program using
sound ! Just X-Plane and Evolution.
Sound works fine and I can play music, videos etc, it's only X-Plane
that complains, go figure ! :o(
I am not too clued about the sound system in Ubuntu/Linux, however
reading this list, I gathered that it's complex, possibly very
troublesome, and that it got changed from Warty to Hoary.
So unless someone knows his onions and can help me.... I will have to
"quad-boot"... WinXP, Warty, Hoary, and Breezy ! Jeez, my hard disks are
getting crowdy ! ;-P
