I'm a fairly recent convert from Fedora. My experience on FC3 was that I
needed to use konsole as my terminal application (the KDE equivalent)
because the gnome-terminal (well, the VTE) terminal emulation was too
buggy for my use: see
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=139294 for the bug
report.

Ubuntu's gnome-terminal is pleasantly free of these bugs. It may be
inefficient, but it does what it's supposed to do.

So hopefully "not until they get it right!"
