Is the 3c59x module loaded? (do a lsmod to check). If not what happens when you do sudo modprobe 3c59x If it is loaded, what does ifconfig show? If the eth0 interface is not up and you have 3c59x loaded then try sudo ifup eth0 -- kleeman
