[OT] Getting a decent monitor

Yes, maybe I could wait for the CRT I want, to appear on Ebay, to get it
cheaper. But I am always reluctant to buy on Ebay. Sometimes people have
a genuine reason for sale (like getting an LCD, as you said), but
sometimes the thing is defective in some way, and they just use Ebay to
shift it and try and get some money back out of it ! :o(
So if I buy new, at least I have a 3 year warranty period...peace of
mind...
