Changing dimensions of a Screen in XOrg at runtime

Put all the modes you need into your xorg.conf file like this:

...
Section Screen
...
  Subsection Display
  ...
    Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"
  EndSubSection
EndSection
...

Be sure you have enough video memory to show them all with the chosen
color depth.
To change the between the modes hit <Ctrl><Alt><+> or <Ctrl><Alt><->
The initial mode will be the first in the "Modes" line.
