Beacuse I would like others to do that! You can of course make the
following assumptions about everybody who can/will contribute
constructively to the discussion:
1. They keep all emails in all discussions they might be interested in.
2. They use a mail client with good threading support.
3. They are willing to go back in the discussion just to understand
your post.
I prefer NOT to make those assumptions!
On top of that I would throw away emails unread if others make those
assumptions about me! Do unto others what you want done unto you (or
something like that). It's simple. I write emails that I wouldn't mind
reading myself!
