Thanks Ronald ! ;o)

This would not be practical, my friend lives 60 miles away, it would
cost me money to ship the complete manual by post.
So I need to remove the protection, so that my friend can print it
himself. Plus, I was simply curious about this protection, and was
hoping to learn s little something about it.

I just got an idea though. Since I can print it in Linux, maybe I could
print it to a PS file, then send this file to my friend. hopefully PS
files aren't protected, and hopefully Windows XP can print PS files out
of the box ?
