ieee1394 for kino

 I have a problem with my ieee1394.
 I am running hoary ubuntu Linux and dmesg tells:

 from kino I am not able to capture, in the task bar I have the warning:
raw1394 kernel module not loaded or failure to read/write /dev/raw1394!

kino also, always when I quit the application has a error msg that the
app has quit unexpectedly ...

just finisted the upgrade. I don't have the kernel headers installed.
can this be a problem ?
