I ran ldd on mine and found it to have a problem - couldn't find libGL.so.2.
Told my friend about that and once get got fglrx to work he didn't have that
problem. However I simply made sure the GL that comes with ia32-libs was
correct on my system and now the error about libGL goes away, but ldd now
only tells me basically it doesn't recognize the file format - both ldd and
ldd-amd64.
