The functionality of portage is the sams as the functionality of apt, so
this would be useless. And there is a VERY good reason that ubuntu is
not bleeding-edge: Ubuntu is just-works. There is no way of being both.
If you want all bleeding-edge things (which may and WILL break your
system sometimes) go with gentoo. Ubuntu has apt.
