If I understand your question correct, you would do one of the
following, depending on your (editor) religious persuasion. These are
listed in my order of preference, but if you don't know what was emacs
or vi are, then I'd suggest the third one:

sudo emacs /etc/fstab
sudo vi /etc/fstab
gksudo gedit /etc/fstab
