Automagical mounting no longer working

I never found a good solution to this, even after upgrading to Hoary.
So finally I just deleted my user and created a new one, copied back
over the . files (except for ones like .gnome, .gconf, etc.), and it
now works. Of course I had to redo some of my settings (like my
panels, etc.) but at least this works now.
