Well it's suppose to be a Ultra ATA Storage Controllers. Now I have
only been able to run it at full speed with the libata stuff (which is
suppose to be for serial ata, the module name is ata_piix.ko ). Using
'hdparm -tT /dev/sda' I can get about 33-35 MB/sec with the buffered
disk reads. The dvd however gets about 1.6-2 MB /sec which is clearly
not enough for dvd playback.
I saw from the first post that the lspci command on ubuntu correctly
gave the names of most of the hardware. This is not the case for me
(mostly unknown device) with my own custom build kernel (plain 2.6.11.5
kernel). Anyone got any idea where I could get the source code of the
latest ubuntu kernel?
