drop shadows?

Having problems. :)

Switched from XFree86 to XOrg for this (but that move will come one day 
anyhow).

The system does not seem to recognize Section "Extensions".  Is there 
something else I should do?  'xcompmgr -c' says this:

	"No composite extension"

The PC has an Intel 855G-something graphics card, so no ATI nor NVidia.
