A while ago (six months to a year, maybe longer) there was a problem
where sudo was not completing properly. I fixed it in my local copy and
sent a patch to the author, but he didn't seem to accept it and didn't
fix it right away.

I'm not sure when it was fixed for the rest of you, since I've had my
own local fix for quite a while. That's probably why you've had
problems.
