Hoary menu problems

I'm running Hoary (upgraded from Warty soon after the Warty release) on
a Dell Inspiron 3700. I have the menu and menu-xdg packages installed,
but am having a couple of menu problems:

1) My Debian menu has disappeared. It seems like
my /var/lib/gnome/Debian and ~/.gnome/apps menus are correctly
populated, so I'm not sure where the menu is.

2) I initially had problems with hibernation, so I commented out the
ACPI_HIBERNATE entry in /etc/default/acpi-support. This removed the
Hibernate option from the Log Out dialog. I subsequently figured out
that I could make hibernation work by setting HIBERNATE_MODE to
'firmware' and so I reenableld the ACPI_HIBERNATE entry. Unfortunately,
the Hibernate option has not reappeared in the Log Out dialog.

Anybody have any ides on how to fix these issues?

Thanks...
