Actually, they are.  If you cursor-up, you'll see something like "Help
with partitioning".  Select that and it actually explains what all the
funny little symbols mean.  I know - I get queasy whenever anything
wants to "mess" with my drives, so I explored EVERYthing offered on
install<g>.
