Failing to install ATI drivers in Warty: Invalid module format

Try carrying on with the instructions, regardless of the error message. 
I think it may be trying to use the existing fglrx.ko rather than the
new one you have created.  (Did you definitely *rmmod fglrx* earlier?

After a successful modprobe of the new module, you should be able to
run fglrxconfig, then restart gnome with *sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start*
