Hi all,
I started this as seperate thread b/c the other one I think is really
for the canidate release cd, this is the actual release live cd I
downloaded this morning.
The Preview Live CD generally worked well, with the exception of when
it first booted.
1) The Ubuntu logo did NOT show up on the first boot screen, not a
real big deal.
then the boot process started and went ok until
2) When X started my display went blank and (the display itself)
showed me a message floating around the screen saying "Input Not
Support". And it just stayed this way for a bit.
3) Then the welcome sound played, while my screen was still blank with
the above message
4) So I went to console 2 to see if it said anything useful, nope :-/
5) I proceeded to cycle through all the rest of the consoles 1-6 and
they seemed to show normal info about the boot process, no errors that
stood out.
6) Then when I got back to console 7, Gnome showed up :)
7) From there on in, Gnome/Hoary/the Live CD seemed to work just fine
:) I started a bunch of apps, Firefox, Gimp, some pref apps, ran a few
command in the Gnome Terminal and it worked good :)
8) Sound, networking, etc... all seemed to work well :)
So all in all, it worked but the display didn't work until i cycled
through the consoles, then it worked.
This is NOT my home machine which I usually do this stuff on, this is
a no-name work machine.
The monitor is an Acer AL1714 LCD display.
P4 3.2Ghz
ICH5R SATA controller(2 disks in it primary is an IDE, secondary is an SATA)
AC'97 Audio
Video Card (possible problem spot) Intel 82865G Integrated Graphics
Devices (Intel 865)
Hope this info helps. Let me know if I can provide anything else.
