[Hoary] "Add/Remove package " broken ?

The new marvellous program in "Application->System Tools->Add/Remove
Programs" doesn't work anymore, it does start, but then it's "frozen",
you can click on the buttons at the bottom, but all the menu structure
is frozen, nothing happens when I click on it.
It's bee like that for several days now. 
I needed a lot of work when I first saw it, should I assume that they
are working hard on it, and it is not in a useable state yet hence still
broken ?  I hope that's what it means, as it's a brilliant tool for user
friendliness, it deserves to get significant development time so that
all the right features are implemented and work smoothly.
I would gladly help with it.... if I had any coding skills at all... :-/
All I can do is give all my moral support, not much help I know ;o)
