Hoary splash and GRUB theme?

G'day there Gabor,

I've currently got Hoary installed in a dual boot selection
alongside of Win XP (the OS I use at work, so I can bring stuff home &
work on it in my own time - sigh...). I have a Grub bootsplash working
fine, although I had to install it by hand. Just a nice simple graphic
that someone else made - I have the artistic skills of a bowling ball -
and that I converted to 15 colours (although I just checked the file &
it says 16 colours) in 640 x 480 then saved as a gzipped xpm file. It
needs to have .xpm.gz for an extension.

You may already be familiar with all of that. I don't know how
familiar you are with Grub. I'm not an expert by any means, but I did
manage to get a splashimage working and it wasn't hard to do. If you're
not aware of how to set it up, just check 'info grub'. Although you
could easily know far more than me about it and this extra information
isn't necessary. In that case, t may be of use to someone else =) .

See ya
