Latest update for hoary - oddities

Hey I just rebooted for the latest Hoary update and I've noticed a
few.. uh oddities (nice new default wallpaper btw.. I like).
1) The Gnome panel at the bottom of the screen no longer has programs
in it that I have open. (to find apps that I've minimized I have to
alt tab)
2) One of those updates didn't work :
