ok, installed gcursor, changed cursor. restarted X11 and ... same
behaviour. Gnome really wigs out it seems. Programs stop responding
sometimes by just clicking on them, other times from trying to type
something.
The sticky-notes applet for instance. I can click and set the insert
bar as normal, but as soon as I try to type *anything*, it hangs,
maxes the cpu and then exits. The Xorg xterm seems uneffected,
however.
Oh, and starting Adobe Acrobat is _really_ bad. I can't do anything
at all, and have to kill the Xserver.
