mplayerplug-in not working in firefox

I had sometimes same problem with mozilla-mplayer. In Debian package, 
you can find a more recent version of mozilla-mplayer 2.70-1
http://packages.debian.org/testing/misc/mozilla-mplayer
I don't know why Ubuntu don't have this version.
I tried mozilla-mplayer, mozplugger, vlc-plugin and gxine.
And now with Hoary, I prefer gxine plugin who come with package gxine 0.4.1.
You have to made a ln -s /usr/lib/gxine/gxineplugin.so 
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins
