change of icon's

I managed to replace my Gnome application icons in UHU-Linux which is
also a Gnome-based (Hungarian) distro. (I have installed Warty today)

The /usr/share/applications directory contains .desktop files and
there's an icon option there. Here you give the full path/name to the
icons (or simply the icon name without path if the icon is in the
default icon path). There are icons both in /usr/share/pixmaps and
other in the theme dir (/usr/share/icons/...). I think Gnome use
hicolor as the fallback theme, so an icon name without a path refers
to an icon in /usr/share/icons/hicolor.

I don't know if modifying /usr/lib/applications/*.desktop will change
the icons (in UHU-Linux there's a script I need to run which generates
the actual menu entries from these files for Gnome, KDE, IceWM etc).
