On-board sound versus dedicated/standalone sound card ???

Thanks Mike, that confirms it then... okay will get a sound card. Will
just the same as my friends, a SBLive, as it's dirty cheap second hand,
and it works fine on his Mandrake, so should work on Ubuntu hopefully !
