For a basic working configuration, use this command at a root prompt:
        sudo dpkg-reconfigure postfix

That will ask you some questions to configure your hostname, local
networks, whether you're an Internet facing mail server, and so on. Any
additional configuration you should do yourself in the
/etc/postfix/main.cf file.
