Fried motherboard replacement?

I have been thinking that instead of using the energy to find a mobo
that works with Linux, fits by box, that doesn't need replacement
fans, new RAM, etc, ad nauseum, maybe I should just shop for a PC that
works well for my needs. I have been lookin at an IBM ThinkCentre A50p
(Dlx). While I could use more drive bays and an AGP slot, I am neither
a serious gamer nor thinking of starting my own SETI program. The plus
also being that in my experience, IBM's are pretty standard boxes that
don't give Linux much of a problem. Anyone care to comment, give
advice?

Cheers,

Brian
