Building new system for Ubuntu

Hi,

I have a similar system.  Asus A7N8X-D mobo, Athlon 2700,
WesternDigital 200GB Sata drive.

For me, it "Just Worked".  I didn't have to add any modules to the
kernel like another poster said.  I just used stock Warty/Hoary
Kernels.  The SATA drive is my main drive and the one I boot from.

The video and audio parts of the system would be much more fiddley by
far.  When it comes to mother boards, processors and hard drives, it
is typically not something you have to worry about.
