Array CD 6

Okay, installed and played briefly with it, here are my initial
thoughts...

Out of the 3 big problems the installer had in previous arrays, one has
now be fixed ! :o) I can now select English as the language, and French
as a K/B layout, without having having to tweak Xorg.conf by hand and
fiddling witrh Gnome's properties. It's now all smooth.

Other two problems are still there :

- once installed, hangs during boot : I still have to disable the
"vbesave" init script.
- CRT monitor still not detected anymore = Can't select proper
resolution in Gnome after install.

Now for some new findings :

- Nautilus displays the content of my audio CD's, it will display track
names like "aaa?aaa?bbb? (invalid Unicode)" replacing every accented
character with question marks. Doesn't look very tidy :o(
Still on the CD front, the CD player doesn't look very nice, and the
volume control doesn't work. That said, even the CD slider in the volume
mixer, doesn't seem to work either, the CD player appeared to be playing
through the PCM channel instead !
Also, it couldn't retrieve track names from the net (but Totem could).
Would be great to use a better looking and better working CD player
then, or, better yet (more consistent approach ?), extent Rhythmbox to
give it CD playback capability, rather than using yet another app.

- Somehow, this array 6 is different from my Array 5 plus updates.
It seems a tad faster, Evolution doesn't show the same bugs, and there
is that new "Add/Remove program" entry in the Applications/System tools
menu, that I am so surprised but delighted to see ! I have always wanted
something like this. With some work, it will rock. Also, when
logging-out, there is now a new "Hybernate" option. Great I thought, it
will put my machien to sleep like a laptopn. But when I click on it, not
much happens, hard rives don't turn off, and when I move the mouse, I am
asked for my password, and I get the desktop back instantly, so it
doesn't look like it working...
