Warty -> Hoary CD not detected

just upgraded to Hoary and my CD is not being detected...my dmesg log file says ->

hdb: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdb: packet command error: error=0x54
ide: failed opcode was 100
cdrom: open failed.

is this a known problem ?
