Is there any way to speed up apt-get ?

I guess I need to move to Finland. I'm in London and have one of the
fastest options available (Blueyonder cable, 1Mbps). But it's not that
expensive either and I haven't noticed that I was "slow," frankly.

Oh, well, there goes my illusions about being on the cutting edge.
