[Hoary] Sound problems

Sorry to pester everyone while I work through this, but I found the
problem buried in a note on one of the existing bugzillla entries for
polypaudio. The first person to use it creates a socket in /tmp/.esd,
owned by the user. Subsequent attempts to use polypaudio end in module
load failure. Shouldn't that have a separate bugzilla entry? Probably
I'm one of the few Ubuntu users with a large family sharing one
machine, but the problem certainly crimps its usefulness.
