ATI or Nvidia??

nVidia has better drivers at the moment. They seem much more commited to
GNU/Linux (x86, amd64, and ia64) and FreeBSD.

ATI has recently been showing promise of turning it's horrible track
record around. At the moment I'm just not so sure about them, though.

I'd go with nVidia. I'd also make sure to complain to them about a lack
of ppc drivers. Do it for the poor ppc users ;-)
