Hmm, it's works for me. Did you happen to change any of your
screensaver settings? Maybe this could cause an issue. I can't seem to
find any preference for it anywhere (not it totem, gconf, .* files,
not anywhere).

Are you using totem-xine or totem-gstreamer. I use totem-xine, maybe
trying this one might work.
